Tour Map #5
Standing strong since 1868, the Root Covered Bridge is a beautiful piece of Ohio’s covered bridge history. Spanning 114 feet across the Ashtabula River, this classic Town lattice bridge has been a part of the landscape for over a century. During its 1982-83 rehabilitation, it was raised 18 inches, reinforced with new laminated girders, and supported by a center concrete pier to ensure its longevity. A perfect stop for history lovers and scenic explorers alike, the Root Bridge continues to charm visitors with its timeless appeal.
