The festival is returning to the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds in 2023. The festival Admission and parking will be free to all! More details will follow.

Take a self-guided driving tour to 19 covered bridges and support the vendors while enjoying the great outdoors. 


Along the tour, you'll stop at the longest covered bridge in the US (Smolen Gulf) and the shortest one open to traffic (West Liberty Street). Visit the central festival at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds (127 N. Elm St., Jefferson, Ohio) for the food vendors, crafters, demonstrators, entertainment and bands, kids activities, a parade, antique cars  and engines, festival souvenirs, and more.

Our Mission

The mission of the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival is to promote Ashtabula County, to help in the preservation & maintenance of it's bridges by planning an annual family oriented festival in a rural community atmosphere and to provide education to the public about its historic covered bridges.

The mission of the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival is to promote Ashtabula County, to help in the preservation & maintenance of it's bridges by planning an annual family oriented festival in a rural community atmosphere and to provide education to the public about its historic covered bridges.


The Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival is held the 2nd weekend in October. We have 19 bridges in all. The shortest and the longest in the USA.

Our Mission

Welcome to Ashtabula County, Ohio.  We are glad you have come to see and learn about our Historic Covered Bridges. They are of five types: Howe truss, Pratt truss, Town lattice truss, Burr Arch, and Inverted Haupt truss.
Each of the Covered Bridges may be seen via a driving tour. Please download a Tour Map.
